Pay: $63.00 - $65.00 per hour

Hours 36 hr/week night shift

Shift: Days - 7:30pm-7:00am

Scheduled Pay: Weekly

Medical Surgical RN Duties

• The Professional Staff Nurse has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process
• The Professional Staff Nurse, in collaboration with the Unit Manager, and other health care professionals, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality care outcomes
• The Professional Staff Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to residents under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span
• Actively engages in clinical development and/or RN residency program for new hires
• Requests opportunities to learn safe, accountable and autonomous practice from more experienced nurses
• Seeks, accepts and utilizes performance feedback from peers, preceptors and unit/department Leaders as a learning opportunity and to improve practice
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for continuous learning and identifies and creates a plan for the continuation of learning and development
• Identifies patient and family needs for education and provides basic education to support the episode of care
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpret and record measurements
• Monitor patients’ vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner
• Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
• Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records
• Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Med Surg RN Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing Require / Bachelors in nursing preferred
• Active RN State NJ license
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in Med Surg or Med Surg / Tele
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required
