LTC Pharmacist Compensation
- The pay for this position is $64.27 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
LTC Pharmacist Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM with overtime as needed
- Must be flexible for alternating on-call weekends and during the week
LTC Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law and that prescribed medicines are suitable for patients
- Accurately maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Advise patients on medications, including usage, potential reactions, and answering their questions
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Educate patients on medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for external or internal use and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify patient drug-related issues and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists
LTC Pharmacist Requirements
- Active Pharmacy License
- Infusion or Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred but not required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
LTC Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Long Term Care or Infusion Pharmacy settings
