Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist Pay Rate: $64.27/hour
Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist Job Type: Full-Time | Contract
Are you a licensed pharmacist with a passion for providing exceptional patient care? We are seeking a Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist to join a collaborative pharmacy team serving patients in a long-term care environment. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with four 10-hour shifts each week and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating weekly schedule:

- 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor medication compliance and identify potential overuse or drug-related concerns.
- Ensure prescriptions are appropriate, safe, and compliant with all state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, administration, side effects, storage, and potential drug interactions.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Prepare and compound medications for internal and external use.
- Prepare sterile medications using established procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues and optimize patient care.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy personnel.
- Monitor and maintain pharmaceutical inventory and medical supplies.
- Participate in patient wellness initiatives, including medication education and health screenings as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacist Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in North Carolina or ability to obtain licensure prior to start.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
- Previous Long-Term Care, retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience with sterile compounding is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, and applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
