Position: Pharmacist (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay rate: $64.27 an hr
Location: Washington, NC 27889 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM + occasional Saturdays (rotating)

Job Summary

We’re hiring an Onsite Pharmacist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Washington, NC. In this role, you’ll ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide patient counseling, support clinical best practices, and help supervise pharmacy operations and staff.

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and proper storage
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
• Monitor patient compliance and identify over-usage patterns
• Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Provide consultation for prescription and OTC medications
• Assist with patient services (as applicable), such as blood pressure checks, cholesterol management, smoking cessation support
• Educate patients on proper use of devices (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors)
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff (technicians/clerks)
• Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with providers and care teams

Requirements

• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) required
• Active Pharmacist license (state board of pharmacy) required
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, safety, and best practices
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
