As part of the Maintenance Team, the Maintenance Controls Technician will play a critical role in improving process reliability, product quality, and overall plant performance. This position involves the installation, maintenance, programming, and calibration of control systems and instrumentation to ensure the efficient operation of industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult diagrams, schematics, manuals, standards, and technical documentation.
- Maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation.
- Manage SCADA-type devices in an industrial environment.
- Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, analog, and digital instrumentation.
- Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs).
- Organize and order PLC control components for plant process control systems.
- Collaborate with corporate IT staff on network and computer-related activities.
- Prepare technical reports to document equipment issues or changes.
- Manage and implement project changes and improvements.
- Provide on-call support to address production needs.
- Install and terminate electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections.
- Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose and resolve faults.
- Perform calibration, adjustments, and component replacements as needed.
- Assist engineering teams with plant design, modifications, and hazard analysis.
- Maintain computer-based control systems and perform scheduled maintenance programs.
- Stay updated on technological advancements in the industry.
Instruments Managed
The role involves working with transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers, and final control elements. These devices measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.

Technical Requirements

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Associates degree, specialized training, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
