Mammography Technician Compensation
• The pay for this position is $60 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Mammography Technician Highlights
• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• The required availability for this position is during standard day shift hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Mammography Technician Responsibilities
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammographic procedures for In/Outpatients according to department protocols
• Review prescriptions, patient histories, and ensure complete documentation for radiologist interpretation
• Operate PACS and Breast Reporting Systems (PenRad) accurately for image processing and reporting
• Perform bone density scans and assist with needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies if trained
• Maintain cleanliness and proper stock of assigned work areas and radiographic equipment
• Practice National Patient Safety Goals and ALARA principle for radiation safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Ultrasound and Clinical Engineering
• Orient and mentor new employees when needed
• Maintain exceptional patient care, explaining procedures clearly and respectfully addressing sociological and psychological needs
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, supervisors, and vendors
• Monitor quality assurance per MQSA guidelines and ensure regulatory compliance
Mammography Technician Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited course in Radiologic Technology or Mammography
• ARRT (R) and (M) Certification
• New Jersey Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License with Mammography Certification
• BLS Certification
• Must meet MQSA continuing education and performance requirements (minimum of 200 mammograms within 36 months)
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with DEXA and Biopsy procedures is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of Mammography experience
