Data Operations Manager

100% Remote

Direct Hire Position

This is NOT a C2C Position

  • Data Architecture Oversee, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide data architecture and roadmap to ensure integrated and accurate reporting across enterprise systems, in partnership with systems and database architecture staff
  • Lead the preservation of data accuracy through crafting audit reports, identifying data quality issues, raising awareness to business and IT stakeholders, and strategizing solutions as needed
  • Identify, manage, and maintain a pipeline of integration opportunities for driving data process efficiency and data quality standards
  • Maintain a strong depth and breadth of knowledge of data-related applications used within the company  and stay aware of existing and emerging counterparts in the marketplace to evaluate and recommend improvements for the company
  • Gather feedback and metrics from stakeholders to evaluate success of organization-wide data architecture, continuously assessing for areas of improvement and strategizing solutions
  • Data Integration & Management
  • Architect ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes to seamlessly integrate new data sources and onboard data from new systems into our database architecture
  • Design and implement data efficiencies to upgrade the company’s ability to gather and analyze data, by updating current data processes and/or standardizing and integrating existing systems
  • Establish and publish trusted and verified data sources to minimize duplication efforts across analysts and support analysts to transform data into compelling insights
  • Bring a deep understanding of data reporting needs to all data integration efforts to ensure ease of end-user reporting
  • Data Stewardship
  • Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand and evaluate business requirements, translate them into specific database solutions, and align solutions with organization data and reporting requirements
  • Advise business owners on data integration and operations best practices during RFP processes for new systems
  • Lead cross-functional working groups related to data warehousing and architecture to support shared solutions across the organization
  • Serve as a trusted liaison by initiating and managing cross-departmental communication to resolve any integration-related questions and issues
  • Education & standardization
  • Set standards for data integration and operations to ensure data quality and integrity across various systems
  • Thoroughly document all data solutions and processes to ensure consistent, repeatable, and lasting solutions
  • Continuously improve the integration of all data across the organization through the application of data management best practices in combination with data technology
  • Build resources to educate the wider data community on integration efforts and published data sources, including creating and facilitating learning pathways to enhance the reporting and analytics capabilities of teams around the organization
  • Stay apprised of an upskill organizational knowledge of the latest trends and developments in data architecture and operations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of knowledge and experience with SQL databases and the creation of stored procedures
  • 5+ professional/amateur sport, IT, analytics, consulting, or related field; applicable coursework or internships may be combined for this requirement
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

Preferred Skills:
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical languages (R, Python, SAS) and data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience in Data Management systems
