MATERIAL HANDLER | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

• Location: Covington GA 30014 – 100% On-site
• Payrate: $18.50/hr
• Required Availability: Full-Time, overnight | Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM

MATERIAL HANDLER | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Material Handler will support safe, accurate, and efficient movement of products within a distribution center. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience operating powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced, metrics-driven warehouse environment.

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

MATERIAL HANDLER | RESPONSIBILITIES:

Order Picking & Processing

• Pick, pack, scan, and label customer orders using RF technology
• Verify accuracy of orders and prepare shipments
• Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and SOPs

Pallet Building & Shipping

• Build and re-build pallets for outbound shipment
• Scan completed pallets and operate shrink-wrapping equipment
• Transport pallets using approved material handling equipment

Inbound, Outbound & Inventory Movement

• Load and unload shipments using the warehouse management system (WMS)
• Ensure safe handling of materials to prevent damage
• Assist with parcel manifest and transportation documentation as needed

Material Handling Equipment

• Safely operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, or turret trucks (Crown lifts)
• Maintain equipment certification and report damage or maintenance needs

Safety, Quality & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents immediately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
• Support warehouse security and quality initiatives

Additional Duties

• Participate in required training and cross-training
• Assist other warehouse functions as needed

MATERIAL HANDLER | REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable) required
• Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (order pickers, reach trucks, turret trucks, etc.) required
• Preferred: Experience operating turret truck equipment
• MUST have experience with cherry picker and reach trucks
• Prior distribution or warehouse experience
• Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse systems
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
• Strong math skills, including multiplication, division, and conversion factors
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
• Comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment
