Title: Marketing Manager – Marketing Strategy and Planning

Pay Rate: $51.34/hr

Location: Work from Home

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:30AM – 5:00PM EST

As the Marketing Manager of Marketing Strategy and Planning, you will be in a unique position to work closely across a variety of cross functional teams, including other Marketing teams, including Merchandising, Digital, Finance, and various centers of excellence to drive fully integrated sales and marketing solutions. This role requires a unique blend of deep analytical skills and a strategic mindset to bring together various qualitative and quantitative data sources to understand consumer shifts and drive into focus areas for Marketing prioritization.

The Marketing Manager should be nimble, autonomous, and entrepreneurial. This person should be very comfortable with data analysis, have strong financial acumen, and be able to work independently and proactively. They should be able to regularly build high quality executive level presentations outlining consumer Marketing activity, the resulting impacts to financial forecast, and variance drivers. They will work on a team that serve as central coordinators for annual campaign planning and prioritization, as well as budget and forecast development across Front Store Marketing teams. The Marketing Manager should feel comfortable working in Excel to analyze data and KPIs, and be able to present findings in a clear manner to various stakeholders. This role will require close partnering with Insights and Analytics teams to assess consumer brand health metrics and performance-based marketing analytics on an ongoing basis, and will be the champion for continually progressive thinking and optimization. This role is best suited for someone with finance/accounting experience who has worked with commercial business partners and is comfortable supporting multiple teams and projects at one time.

Job Duties:

  • Drafting executive-level presentations on marketing plans, business cases, and growth strategies, supporting various peer teams to develop and present a cohesive strategy
  • Regularly build-out executive-level presentations on Front Store Marketing activities, pulling information from various stakeholders and synthesizing
  • Managing cross-portfolio central marketing budget development, actuals tracking, and variance explanations; supporting marketing leaders in building financial forecasts that meet critical business and customer goals
  • Reporting on various marketing, BU, competitive, retail, healthcare, patient, and consumer trends
  • Acting as the primary point of contact with various Reporting and Analytics teams
  • Attending marketing, retail, and industry trade events to stay abreast of emerging business trends and opportunities
  • In support of the Director and Sr. Manager, drafting annual marketing plans and budget guidance, and gaining alignment across a number of peer stakeholders in Front Store businesses and the Retail Leadership team, all while providing quarterly updates to the plan
  • Executing medium and long-term strategy projects across various functional areas, looking across multiple marketing focus areas to identify channel effectiveness opportunities, spend allocation, customer analysis, and patient and therapy trends in healthcare to get to a cohesive learning agenda across retail
  • Evolving capabilities in analyzing trends in real time and/or mechanisms in order to push insights to leadership in a timely fashion
  • Supporting the strategic planning process by developing competitive forecasts and analyses
  • Partnering with the Insights/Research team to enrich the strategic value of analytics and insights
  • Identifying, creating, and distributing monthly updates on marketing activity, performance, and go-forward plans in partnership with the various marketing leaders
  • Acting as an internal consultant to other marketing leaders in the department, helping mentor teams to conduct analysis and develop strategic plans and business cases

Job Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of finance, accounting, strategy, and/or marketing experience, with a strong foundation of business, retailer, and consumer understanding
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Expert-level skill in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to develop compelling strategic narratives and present findings to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in use of key financial metrics/ratios to evaluate business cases and build accurate forecasts
  • Proven ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights
  • Strong strategic thinking skill, with a demonstrable understanding of marketing & sales mechanics
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively with internal and external business partners in delivering ROI positive results
  • Strong project management, communication, and strategic thinking skills, including a strong technical acumen and experience
  • Proven ability to inspire, collaborate with, and influence business partners
  • Ability to act as an independent self-starter and anticipate requests to properly execute projects and initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to incorporate new learnings into existing plans and act decisively and independently
  • An intellectual curiosity, rigorous analytical experience, and a strong familiarity with the digital environment
  • A self-motivated, high-capacity individual with the ability to function and win in a demanding, performance-driven environment
  • Consistently demonstrated professionalism, reliability, accountability, and flexibility in working with others
  • Experience in Retail/CPG/Healthcare environments preferred
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or other related field required; Master’s Degree in a related field preferred
