Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Material Handler II is responsible for safely and accurately loading, unloading, picking, packing, and moving products within the distribution center. This role supports inbound, outbound, and inventory operations while following all safety, quality, and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Order Picking & Processing
- Pick, pack, label, and process customer orders using RF/Voice technology
- Scan barcodes and verify order accuracy
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and SOPs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Build, scan, and stage pallets for shipment
- Re-palletize product as needed
- Operate shrink wrap equipment and perform dock manifest duties
- Transport pallets using material handling equipment (MHE)
- Load and unload inbound/outbound shipments using the WMS
- Handle products safely to prevent damage
- Complete all assigned duties in a timely manner
- Prepare transportation and shipping documentation when required
- Safely operate forklifts and other MHE (order pickers, reach trucks, counterbalance, dock stockers)
- Report equipment damage or maintenance issues immediately
- Maintain current equipment certifications
- Follow all safety rules and report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Support company quality goals
- Participate in Hazmat training as assigned
- Cross-train in other warehouse functions and assist as needed
- Maintain required training and certification status
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, GED, or 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience operating material handling equipment preferred
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
- Ability to read and interpret warehouse and shipping documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Frequent use of hands and repetitive motion
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment
