MATERIAL HANDLER | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Sparks MD 21152 – 100% On-site
- Payrate: $18.45/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (Evening Shift)
MATERIAL HANDLER | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Material Handler will support inbound and outbound operations within a high-volume distribution center. This role involves pallet building, order picking, inventory movement, and operating material handling equipment while maintaining strict safety, quality, and documentation standards.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

MATERIAL HANDLER | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely load and unload inbound and outbound shipments
- Pick, pack, label, and process customer orders using RF/voice technology
- Build and re-palletize orders according to shipment requirements
- Transport pallets using material handling equipment
- Utilize ERP/WMS systems for inventory movement, storage, and shipment tracking
- Verify order accuracy and ensure proper shipment packaging
- Maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and follow SOPs
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready
- Support dock operations, including manifesting and shrink wrapping
- Cross-train and assist in other warehouse functions as needed
- Follow all safety and security procedures at all times
MATERIAL HANDLER | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable) required
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Forklift Certification required
- Experience operating MHE such as Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counterbalance (slip & clamp), and Dock Stockers
- Experience using RF scanners and ERP/WMS systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in some areas
- Repetitive use of hands and wrists
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
