Materials Laboratory Technician Compensation

The pay for this position is $26 per hour

Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

Materials Laboratory Technician Responsibilities

Conduct bench-level testing and experiments in the Materials R&D group

Write technical reports and support test request workflow operations

Operate equipment in the materials characterization and testing labs
-
Ensure compliance with BD quality policies, safety regulations, and procedures

Execute materials testing to support engineering, product development, and feasibility testing

Gather, maintain, and format technical data such as laboratory material test results
-
Report results of experiments to the manager and materials engineers
-
Maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and assist with lab functions like calibration
-
Understand materials characterization capabilities and testing instruments
Materials Laboratory Technician Requirements

Associate's Degree (or higher) in a Technical or Science Field
-
1–5 years of relevant experience in a technical discipline or a combination of education and experience

Experience with material characterization/testing instruments and equipment
-
Training in laboratory safety and procedures

Knowledge of mechanical measurement equipment (e.g., Instron) and materials characterization tools (FTIR, DSC, TGA) preferred
-
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer programs
-
Familiarity with ISO, FDA, OSHA, and ASTM regulations
-
Task-oriented with strong attention to detail
