Location: Akron Campus, 7 East (Med/Surg Oncology Unit)
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM

Med/Surg Oncology RN Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract at a premier hospital in Akron, OH. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN to work on a 14-bed Med/Surg oncology unit (7 East) with a flexible start date and competitive pay.

Med/Surg Oncology RN Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Med/Surg oncology unit.
  • Perform routine assessments, administer medications, and manage patient care.
  • Start IVs, perform phlebotomy, and assist with other nursing procedures.
  • Float to other units as needed, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain patient records using EPIC EMR (must have recent experience with EPIC, within the last year).
  • Follow all hospital protocols and safety guidelines.

Med/Surg Oncology RN Job Requirements:

  • Active RN License in Ohio.
  • BLS certification required (must be current).
  • 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience (oncology experience is a plus).
  • EPIC EMR experience within the last year (must be included on resume).
  • Ability to float to other units as needed.
  • Must be available to work 3 out of 4 holidays during the contract period (no time off for both Christmas and Christmas Eve).
  • No more than 7 days of RTO will be accepted.
  • Chemo certification is welcome but not required.

Med/Surg Oncology RN Ratios: 1 RN per 7 patients.

Med/Surg Oncology RN Important Notes:

  • Interviews are required. Please provide availability for interview dates/times.
  • This position requires flexibility and floating to other units as needed.
  • RTO requests should be submitted at the time of application.
  • Block schedules are not accepted.
