Medical Assistant II Float Job Description:
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient flow and nursing care in a busy clinical environment. This role involves rooming patients, administering injections, assisting with provider orders, and collecting/documenting patient information in the EHR to meet performance metrics. Acts as a primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers to ensure seamless communication and care coordination.
Medical Assistant II Float Schedule & Location:
Schedule: Full-time, schedule may vary depending on clinic needs
Location: Onsite – Float position within local clinic network, Dallas, TX 75230, United States
Medical Assistant II Float Salary/Wage:
$21 - $24 per hour
Medical Assistant II Float Duties:
• Assist physicians in providing quality patient care according to established standards
• Prepare and room patients; obtain and document vital signs and medical history
• Administer injections and perform EKGs, as directed
• Coordinate follow-up care and communicate with patients on behalf of the clinical team
• Maintain EHR documentation to meet organizational metrics and compliance
• Ensure clinical areas comply with OSHA and safety regulations
• Adapt to clinic changes and support a fast-paced medical environment
Medical Assistant II Float Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a busy primary care or surgical setting
• Active Medical Assistant Certification (REQUIRED)
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of EHR systems
• Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT-4, and ICD-10 coding
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stay calm and effective during emergency situations
Medical Assistant II Float Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Requires full range of body motion, including lifting patients
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Normal vision and hearing required
Medical Assistant II Float Education:
• High School diploma or GED required
