Medical Assistant
Location: Columbia Station, OH
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (No weekends or holidays)
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Duration: Ongoing, with potential for long-term placement

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Medical Assistant in Columbia Station, OH. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a medical setting, assisting with patient care and supporting healthcare professionals in a correctional environment.

Position Overview:

As a Medical Assistant, you will assist in the care, examination, and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or nurse supervisor. This role involves performing selected patient care tasks, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will play an important role in supporting patients and their families while ensuring compliance with patient privacy and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform selected patient care tasks to assist with examinations, treatments, and other clinical activities as directed by a physician or nurse supervisor.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Obtain vital signs, blood pressure, height, weight, EKGs, lab tests, and record patient data.
• Prepare and clean examination rooms, restock supplies, and maintain a hygienic environment.
• Maintain patient privacy rights and adhere to HIPAA directives.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to patient care and facility guidelines.
• Provide assistance to other team members as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and provide support to patients and their families during medical procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of six months of supervised clinical experience within the past two years in the professional classification and each specialty in which you will be working.
• Minimum of two clinical references from supervisory or charge personnel.
• Mandatory attendance for first 90 days
• High School Diploma
• Completed clinical skill competency checklist for the area of specialty.
• Successful score above 80% on a valid clinical proficiency test.
• Annual, current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) or appropriate Cardiac Life Support certification, as needed for the area of employment.
• Current satisfactory health statement, including Hepatitis B documentation, and a negative Tuberculin test result or chest x-ray as required.
