Medical Assistant Compensation
- The pay for this position is $17-$18 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Medical Assistant Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is Monday to Friday / 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and billing and coding for insurance purposes.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by collecting medical history and relevant information.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and medications.
- Assist with medical procedures such as wound care, suturing, and casting.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Job Requirements
Medical Assistant Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing electronic health records.
- Experience with basic life support (BLS) techniques and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical coding and insurance billing processes is beneficial.
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures and equipment is a plus.
