Job Description
A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Medical Economist in Harrisburg, PA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program and work with complex data analyses. It is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule, requiring 40 hours per week.

Medical Economist Compensation
- Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour
- Benefits: Available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- 401(k): Company match available for employees with one year of service
Medical Economist Highlights
- Contract Assignment: Potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
- Work Location: On-site in Harrisburg, PA.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
Medical Economist Responsibilities
- Design and conduct fiscal and program analyses to support the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program.
- Analyze data to identify trends in medical assistance costs, develop cost containment initiatives, and recommend reimbursement strategies.
- Perform large data set analyses to evaluate cost savings and determine future savings targets.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives and prepare impact assessments for various projects.
- Develop and maintain healthcare payment reconciliation systems.
- Advise stakeholders on program analysis results and prepare detailed reports and presentations.
Medical Economist Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience conducting medical economic analyses.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong analytical skills and experience accessing and analyzing complex medical databases.
- Familiarity with Medicaid/Medical Assistance programs is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge: Understanding of inpatient and outpatient medical industry operations or claims analysis to identify billing patterns.
