Mental Health/Psych RN Hours

• 3rd shift - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, includes every other weekend
• 40 Hours/Week

Mental Health/Psych RN Compensation

• The pay for this position is $60.00-67.00 an hour paid weekly
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Mental Health/Psych RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
• Monitor and evaluate patients’ mental status, behavior, and physical health; promptly report significant changes to the treatment team.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions, and provide medication education to patients.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and de-escalation in response to behavioral health emergencies.
• Assess and manage suicide risk, self-harm behaviors, aggression, and other safety concerns in accordance with hospital policies.
• Facilitate and/or co-lead psychoeducational and therapeutic groups as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented treatment environment.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient progress, and treatment outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and community resources.
• Adhere to state regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient rights guidelines.
• Serve as a patient advocate and promote trauma-informed, culturally competent care.

Mental Health/Psych RN Requirements

• RN License in CT
• Must have mental Health/Pysch nursing experience
