Position Title: Nurse Practitioner Float
Location: Atlanta, GA 30306
Pay Rate: $74.87/hour
Assignment Dates: 03/02/2026 – 06/08/2026
Assignment Type: Temporary to Perm (opportunity to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs)
Type of Start: Individual start
Work Setting: In-person, patient-facing
Onsite Requirement: Onsite as needed

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner Float will work collaboratively with a dedicated clinical care team to provide evidence-based primary and family care to a defined patient population. The care team supports the provider daily to drive improved patient outcomes. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, health counseling, and disposition planning. This role reports to the Practice Manager and requires flexibility to float between clinic locations as needed.


Schedule & Training

  • Clinic Hours:

    • Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM

    • Saturday/Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM / 4:30 PM

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

  • Holiday Rotation: Possible

  • Training Schedule: 40 hours per week for 4 weeks


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and family evidence-based care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health counseling, and disposition planning

  • Manage acute and chronic health conditions and support preventive care initiatives

  • Conduct routine examinations and diagnostic testing

  • Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices and encourage active participation in their healthcare

  • Deliver services such as health screenings, behavioral health support, wellness services, and chronic condition management

  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to maintain comprehensive care plans

  • Handle patient appointments and ensure positive patient health outcomes

  • Perform administrative duties including opening and closing the clinic, inventory management, patient follow-up, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment

  • Maintain proficiency with clinical information systems and healthcare technology


Required Education, Licensure & Certifications

  • Candidate questionnaire must be included on the resume

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program

  • Current National Board Certification

  • Active State of Employment license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

    • Active BLS documentation required upon offer acceptance

  • DEA Registration required at time of offer


Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Primary Care experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a family medicine or primary care setting preferred

    • If not met, successful completion of an approved primary care training program is required

  • Working knowledge of quality measurement and chronic disease management

  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to practice autonomously without direct supervision

  • Proficiency with information management systems and technology

  • Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure

  • Ability to collaborate frequently with professional colleagues in a team-based care environment

  • Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a float role

  • Ability to work remotely as part of a clinical care team when applicable
