RN – Progressive Care  Job Description:
The RN – Progressive Care is responsible for providing age-appropriate, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced telemetry unit. This travel position includes monitoring, assessing, planning, and coordinating care to ensure high standards of safety, comfort, and recovery for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and effective communication with patients and families is essential.

RN – Progressive Care Schedule & Location:

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend required

• Will float to similar units, including ED for patient holds

• Location:  Morristown NJ 07960 United States

RN – Progressive Care Salary/Wage:

• $50–$55/hour

RN – Progressive Care  Duties:

• Collect health history data from patients and medical records

• Complete admission assessments and notify appropriate consults

• Perform Braden scale assessments and reassess patient needs continually

• Develop, revise, and update age-appropriate individualized care plans

• Integrate developmental and physiological considerations into care

• Delegate responsibilities and coordinate care using an interdisciplinary approach

• Document interventions, medications, treatments, and education accurately

• Comply with Department of Health and regulatory agency policies

• Assess learning needs and educate patients and families using appropriate tools

• Initiate and document discharge planning at time of admission

• Coordinate telemetry settings with technicians and interpret telemetry strips

• Administer and monitor high-risk cardiac drugs and respond to chest pain protocols

• Follow telemetry standing orders and assist with elective cardioversion

• Other duties as assigned

RN – Progressive Care  Required Qualifications:

• Current NJ Registered Nurse License

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

RN – Progressive Care  Preferred Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of related nursing experience

RN – Progressive Care  Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
