Occupational Therapist (OT) – Outpatient

Location: Alpena, MI 49707
Schedule: Full-Time | Days
Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Weekend Rotation: 1 per month
On-Call: Discussed during interview
Pay Rate: Starting at $32.00/hour (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $14,000 (2-year commitment required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic healthcare team in an outpatient setting, with occasional support in acute care. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care through evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for an OT looking for stability, growth, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in a supportive clinical environment.

Patient Population

  • Primarily Outpatient
  • Occasional Acute Care coverage

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients using formal and informal assessment tools
  • Develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to restore optimal function
  • Monitor patient progress and update care plans as needed
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and home programs
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and students
  • Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for compliance and billing
  • Participate in care planning meetings and team conferences

Additional Responsibilities

  • Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment needs
  • Support program development and process improvement initiatives
  • Promote occupational therapy services within the community
  • Function as case manager for assigned patients
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (or eligible) in Michigan
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of outpatient clinic and occasional hospital setting
  • Frequent standing, walking, and patient interaction
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Exposure to clinical environments and patient care scenarios
