OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Lexington KY 40509 – 100% On-site

- On-site, homecare visits across 16 counties (up to 45 miles between visits)
- Payrate: $29.51/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will support therapists in implementing individualized rehabilitation plans that improve patient independence, participation, and overall health. This role involves hands-on patient care, equipment adaptation, and community-based therapy support.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Occupational Therapist with vocational and educational activities to restore and reinforce task performance
- Design and adapt equipment for patients’ working and living environments, including fabricating assistive devices
- Conduct community reintegration activities and support physical activity for rehabilitation goals
- Provide training to patients and caregivers, documenting outcomes and progress
- Support individual treatment plans by reporting status changes to the OT, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members
- Follow all homecare policies and procedures while traveling to patients’ homes
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- KY COTA License (compact licenses accepted)
- Ability to travel between patients’ homes (up to 45 miles between visits)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to follow direction from Occupational Therapist and work independently
- Preferred: Prior homecare experience, Familiarity with Homecare Homebase (HCHB), Experience with adaptive equipment fabrication and community-based rehabilitation
