Oncology Medical Scheduler Compensation
- The pay for this position is $21 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Oncology Medical Scheduler Highlights
- The required availability for this position is Monday – Friday from 8:30AM – 5PM
- *The position is an in office role in the Lewisville area - Must be local and be comfortable traveling on-site*
Oncology Medical Scheduler Responsibilities
- The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and tests in an efficient and timely manner. Answers all incoming calls and directs calls to appropriate personnel. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical staff. May orient, train, and assign the work of lower level employees. May be designated as the lead employee.
- Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers needs and directs to appropriate personnel.
- Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Obtains and communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner.
- Schedules new patients and return appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
- Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
- Obtains and enters all authorization and correspondence relating to referrals in patients charts and computer.
- Maintains physicians schedule: on call, vacations, meetings, etc.
- Schedules outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request. Obtains necessary pre-certification as required.
- Handles new patient referrals, gathers necessary information, assigns the patient account number and schedules appointment.
Oncology Medical Scheduler Requirements
- Must have a verifiable High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of (3) three years of medical office experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- HIGHLY prefers Chemotherapy and/or Oncology experience but not required
