PET-CT Technologist Job Description:

Under general supervision, the PET-CT Technologist performs advanced PET imaging procedures, including radiopharmaceutical injection, patient preparation, and image acquisition. This role collaborates closely with physicians and leadership to ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with radiation safety standards. The technologist supports scheduling, front office coordination, and quality assurance functions, and plays a key role in patient data handling and imaging workflows.

PET-CT Technologist Schedule & Location:

• Full-time, Direct Hire role

• Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (no nights)

• Onsite in a clinical imaging setting - McKinney TX 75069 United States

• Must be able to commute reliably and work in person

• Physical activity required, including lifting and positioning patients

PET-CT Technologist Salary/Wage:

• $42.30 – $55.87/hour (based on experience and credentials)

PET-CT Technologist Duties:

• Perform PET imaging procedures, including radiopharmaceutical and/or IV contrast administration
• Conduct patient prep, positioning, scanning, reconstruction, and archiving
• Ensure accurate data transfer and storage of image records
• Maintain scanner performance through daily quality control
• Report equipment service needs promptly
• Assist with patient scheduling and workflow coordination
• Recognize and respond to contrast reactions and contraindications
• Support data collection, compliance, and teaching efforts
• Order and manage imaging and clinical supplies

PET-CT Technologist Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology from an AMA-accredited program
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification
• State licensure as required
• Familiarity with patient scheduling/billing systems a plus
• Level 1: 3–5 years’ experience in nuclear medicine and/or PET preferred
• Level 2: 5+ years’ nuclear medicine experience, including 2+ years PET
• Senior Level: 4+ years PET experience and Bachelor’s degree required

PET-CT Technologist Physical Requirements:

• Full range of motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Push/pull patients in wheelchairs or stretchers up to 300 lbs
• Extended standing/sitting periods
• Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range
• Ability to reach overhead

PET-CT Technologist Work Environment:

• Clinical setting with exposure to radiation, blood, and biohazards
• Must adhere to strict safety and infection control procedures
