Job Description:
We are seeking a public relations contractor to join its Sports & Entertainment team. In this position, you will help build our brand by finding strategic ways to be purposeful, disruptive, and relevant in and across a multi-sport landscape leveraging earned media. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop progressive media engagement strategies, as well as maintain a strong network of media contacts that can be leveraged to increase our share of voice in a high-quality manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop PR strategies that support current and existing sponsorship partners, program launches, and promotions in the Sports & Entertainment space
  • Plan and implement media relations efforts aligned with approved PR strategies
  • Work in a cross-discipline manner with the broader comms and marketing teams (social, internal comms, sponsorship, content, etc.) to produce relevant, compelling content consisting of earned and owned media
  • Develop and produce high-quality, informative, and interesting press releases, press kits, and related materials
  • Maintain good relationships with media
  • Participate in the planning and execution of promotional events, press conferences, PR campaigns, industry conferences, etc.
  • Analyze media coverage; develop responses when needed
  • Develop relationships with industry leaders through media relations
  • Create presentations, articles, reports, and information relevant to PR activity
  • Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports
  • Assist in the development of an editorial calendar
  • Consistently brainstorm and collaborate with team for new ideas and strategies
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in PR or related field
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for earned campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting and content creation skills
  • Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
  • Available to work nights or weekends when neede
