Part- Time Corrections RN (Weekends)

Part- Time Corrections RN Location: Philadelphia, PA 19136
Part- Time Corrections RN Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Available Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
Guaranteed Hours: 16 hours every other weekend
Part- Time Corrections RN Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Part- Time Corrections RN Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Philadelphia, PA. This role offers both local and travel opportunities and involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a secure environment.

Part- Time Corrections RN Responsibilities:

• Perform intake and triage duties, including responding to medical emergencies and initiating care as needed.
• Administer and document medications on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
• Conduct patient histories, physicals, and health assessments, referring patients to appropriate healthcare providers as necessary.
• Assist Physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Teach healthcare information to patients and correctional staff.
• Collect samples, specimens, and cultures as ordered by Physicians.
• Adhere to safety, security, and infection control protocols, including Universal Precautions.
• Perform venipuncture and intravenous therapy as required.
• Document all nursing care provided in compliance with policy and procedures.
• Participate in disaster drills and follow security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
• Active CPR certification.
• Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing nursing practice.
• Successful completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.
• Ability to pass a background check, security clearance, and drug screening.

Work Environment: This position involves working in a correctional facility with security measures in place to ensure safety. Exposure to communicable and infectious diseases may occur. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, crouch, and perform CPR during emergencies.
