Patient Access Coordinator Details and Compensation:
- Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $16/hr
- Required Availability: Monday – Friday, 830 AM – 5 PM
Patient Access Coordinator Summary and Highlights:
The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and pre-registering new patients for exams and procedures while maintaining accurate records and resolving routine and non-routine issues.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Patient Access Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls, assess patient needs, and schedule appointments with appropriate providers.
- Provide patients with appointment details, including time, location, directions, and preparation instructions.
- Maintain and update physician schedules to ensure accurate appointment bookings.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring records are up-to-date.
- Mail or email medical forms to patients and follow up on missing or outdated information.
- Collaborate with triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Patient Access Coordinator Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years as a medical receptionist with experience in insurance forms and scheduling software.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to navigate scheduling platforms.
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
