Job Description:

The Patient Escort is responsible for safely transporting patients in wheelchairs or stretchers to their appointments or destinations within the healthcare facility. The role involves sanitizing equipment, documenting patient transport details, and providing excellent customer service to patients and caregivers. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves moving patients and remaining on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Patient Escort Schedule & Location:

• Location: (Medical Center Area) Houston, TX
• Shift Options:
  • AM Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
  • PM Shift: 11:45 AM - 8:15 PM
  • Rotating weekends and some holidays.
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance are required.

Patient Escort Salary/Wage:

$16.00 per hour.

Patient Escort Duties:

• Escort patients in wheelchairs or stretchers to and from appointments and destinations.
• Sanitize and disinfect equipment (wheelchairs, stretchers) following strict protocols.
• Complete daily disinfection tracking logs, documenting relevant patient and transport details.
• Assist patients in getting on and off wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service to patients and caregivers.
• Maintain clear communication and follow directions while navigating the facility.

Patient Escort Required Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of patient care experience.
• Strong customer service background.
• Ability to push patients or equipment weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Patient Escort Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push and assist patients weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Physical stamina to be on your feet throughout the shift.
• Able to navigate throughout the hospital or facility independently.

Patient Escort Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
