Patient Financial Counselor | Details and Compensation:
- Location: Morristown, NJ 07960 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $22/hr
- Required Availability: Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM, every other weekend (with a day off during the week)
Patient Financial Counselor | Summary and Highlights:
The Patient Financial Counselor will assist patients in evaluating their ability to pay for services, setting up payment arrangements, and determining eligibility for financial assistance programs.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Patient Financial Counselor | Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ financial responsibility and establish payment plans.
- Utilize the Epic estimator tool to provide cost estimates and collect payments, deductibles, and copays.
- Interview patients (in person or over the phone) to assess eligibility for charity care, Medicaid, and 501R programs.
- Process and approve financial assistance applications.
- Verify insurance information, check coverage eligibility, and update patient accounts.
- Answer and return phone calls, as well as perform other general office duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Patient Financial Counselor | Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Verifiable).
- Charity care experience.
- Experience reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
- Medicaid experience.
- Upfront cash collection experience.
- Skills: Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
