Job Description

Title: Payroll Project Analyst II

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid)

Note: This role is NOT open to C2C candidates

The Payroll Project Analyst is responsible for the management of payroll inquiries and requests for internal and external customers via a case management tool. They will;

  • Research and resolve employee concerns through successful resolution with effective communication to appropriate parties
  • Provide all levels of Time and Labor data / process management, including data audits and communications to employees to address and resolve data entry issues, working with outsource vendors to manage any T&L system issues
  • Audit, resolve, and reconcile the Time and Labor database for submission to outsource vendors each pay cycle for processing by required deadline; additionally, follow-up with vendors on any associated questions
  • Review, validate, and reconcile 1-time payments, deductions, and miscellaneous spreadsheets for submission to outside vendors for processing
  • Partner with the payroll vendor to coordinate all required payroll support tasks, including off cycle payment processing
  • Manage department mail to ensure time sensitive documents are addressed internally or forwarded to responsible third-party vendor for timely handling
  • Uphold company policies and procedures related to payroll processing
  • Handle other duties, as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of diverse payroll and time administration experience in a multi-company, multi-state environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a quality customer service focus
  • Creative problem-solving skills, including good analytical, decision-making skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience with Workday and/or ServiceNow preferred
  • A minimum of an AS/BS in Accounting or Finance; relevant Finance/Accounting Certifications preferred
