Job Description
Title: Payroll Tax Specialist
Location: Cumberland, RI (Position begins Onsite before transition to a Hybrid schedule)
Pay Rate: $27.00/hr
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 4:30PM EST
We are looking for a dedicated, conscientious, and exacting Payroll Tax Specialist to handle all tax matters in our payroll team. You will join a team of seasoned professionals contributing to making our payroll tax function efficient and fault-free. As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Administrative items related to payroll taxes
- Payroll tax audit support and state unemployment tax support
- Validation of tax returns according to legislative timelines and stipulations
- Reconciliation of tax payments internally
- Managing state, local, unemployment, and federal tax registrations
- Helping employees on any additional tax or payroll matters
Position Requirements:
- 2-5 years of Accounting or Payroll experience/background, with in-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, tax legislation, accounting practices, and audit requirements
- Strong experience with MS Office Suite programs
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
