Pediatrician Compensation: Salary $220,000.00
Vacation days: • During the first five (5) years of continuous employment, Physicians and Dentists will accrue fifteen (15) days of vacation per year. • Providers with five (5) years of seniority but less than ten (10) years will accrue eighteen (18) days of vacation per year. • After ten (10) years of employment, Providers will accrue twenty (20) days of annual leave per year. • Provider’s vacation must be scheduled in coordination with Clinic so as to assure full coverage for Clinic’s patients. Productivity goals will not be adjusted based on added leave days. Sick days: • 10 days accrued per year/carries over each year; Maximum number of days that can be accrued is 90 days • Sick leave is not paid out upon separation and cannot be used during resignation period Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day Fiesta San Jacinto (SA Personnel Only) Independence Day 2 Floating Holidays-if hired before July1 1 Floating Holiday-if hired after July 1 Comal County Fair (NB Personnel Only) Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day

What does the Pediatrician do?
A. Provides general physical examinations and makes medical evaluations to diagnose and treat a variety of medical illnesses and diseases of the human body. B. Analyzes test findings and processes all "normal" and "abnormal" lab results to diagnose the patient's health condition. C. Administers appropriate treatment plans and prescribes medications to treat the patient's medical condition as indicated by protocol. D. Promotes health among patients by advising patients on diet, hygiene and disease prevention. E. Documents and charts all treatment modalities administered and preventive medicine prescribed in patient's medical chart in accordance with accepted medical protocols. F. Makes referrals to specialists when necessary for treatment of medical conditions following guidelines established by the VP/Chief Medical Officer and managed care contracts. G. Works as a member of the medical staff in implementing the objectives and the Clinical Outcome measures by Life Cycle Groups. H. Works as a member of the medical staff in identifying the medical issues of the community and to develop best treatment plans. I. Provides medical assistance to other Physicians and mid-level providers as necessary or provides coverage for patients in the absence of their regular treating physician. J. Keeps VP/Chief Medical Officer informed of trends and increases in numbers of medical conditions and illnesses being reported by patients. K. Keeps up with CME requirements for Texas License and Board Certification. L. Abides by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual. M. Abides by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual. 2 N. Participates in after hour care, to include patient calls and hospital coverage. Appropriately documents such care. O. Participates in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program. P. Abides by all safety policies as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual. Pediatric Provider: Demonstrates competence with patients aged 0 to 17 years of age. Family Medicine Provider: Demonstrates competence with patients aged 0 and older. Internal Medicine Provider: Demonstrates competence with patients aged 18 and older. OB/Gyn Providers: Demonstrate competence with female patients requiring obstetrical and gynecological care
- Manually fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules.
- Must-read computer-generated screens to find indicated merchandise on labeled shelves, verify size and strength.
- Perform basic mathematical reasoning to either count or calculate appropriate number of units needed to fill prescriptions.
- Replenish medication in automated dispensing cells to full capacity, opening copious quantities of bottles and cases of product. Use of handheld scanner unit to scan barcodes of product, entering expiration and lot information into computer application.
- Maintains elevated level of focus to avoid cross contamination and performs quality assurance check for expired and/or damaged product.
- Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions following specific requirements for handling and packing.
- Assists with packing and shipping of prescriptions. Understands and abides by federal and state HIPAA laws as well as pharmacy standard procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Completes weekly cycle counts as assigned by Inventory Mgr. Requires audits of cell inventory, counting product at primary and secondary bin locations. Assists with research and identification of root cause of discrepancies as needed.
- Demonstrate problem resolution skills: ability to recognize, address and escalate issues to management.
Pediatrician Qualifications/Requirements:
A. Education: Graduate from a U.S. approved Medical School Completion of required Internship and/or Residency Program Licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners
B. Experience: Outpatient Health Care clinic preferred
C. Other: Current Physician's Permit Controlled Substances Registration, Certificate issued by DEA Must be eligible for Medical Malpractice Liability Coverage under FTCA
