Occupational Therapist Compensation
- The pay for this position starts at $32.00+ per hour (based on experience)
- A $14,000 sign-on bonus is available with a 2-year commitment
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Occupational Therapist Position Highlights
- This is a permanent position with outpatient and occasional acute care responsibilities
- The required availability for this position is Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with 1 weekend rotation per month
- On-call requirements will be discussed during the interview
- Evaluate patients’ function using formal and informal testing measures
- Develop goal-specific treatment plans and submit written treatment regimes in coordination with physicians
- Provide supervision and delegation to Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment, prognosis, and adaptive equipment
- Complete documentation necessary for billing and regulatory compliance
- Provide treatment interventions to restore optimal functioning
- Promote occupational therapy, participate in team conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and community education
- Function as a case manager for assigned patients
- Demonstrate commitment to MyMichigan Health values including excellence, integrity, teamwork, and accountability
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- NBCOT Certification
- OTR (Occupational Therapist Registered) License
- BLS Certification within 1 month of hire
- Successful completion of facility-specific orientation and new hire competency
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Mandatory OSHA training completed annually
- Ability to use personal protective equipment correctly and perform essential job functions
- More than 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience (new grads considered)
- AOTA membership preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team interactions
