A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Petroleum Geologist in Midland, TX! The Petroleum Geologist would be working for a large educational institution and has career growth potential. Full time / 40 hours per week.
Compensation & Benefits
- The pay is $75 - $80 per hour

- Contract to permanent opportunity with room for growth based upon attendance & performance
- Work Environment: 50% office/field. Will be in a field truck inspecting locations on University Lands. Initially, the office will be University Lands’s Midland office location, but may eventually incorporate a part-time home office.
Responsibilities
• Provide environmentally focused oversight of O&G and commercial surface activity on University Lands
• Manage long-term surface rehabilitation projects extending to two years or more with dedicated project team assembled from responsible party, state regulators, and University Lands
• Demonstrable knowledge regarding UL, state, and federal emission, groundwater, and soil remediation regulations
• Strong negotiation and conflict management skills with respect to coordination of the activities of multiple tenants and users of the ground surface
• Review proposed state legislation for impact to UL
• Coordinate with RRC and TCEQ as necessary to ensure UL’s interests are maintained
• Provide training and leadership to company representatives on best practices, environmental excellence, and surface rights.
• Inspect Commercial Leases, Easements, and O&G Leases
• Provide guidance for O&G and Surface lease rehabilitation and restoration
• Manage long-term surface rehabilitation projects extending to two years or more with dedicated project team assembled from responsible party, state regulators, and University Lands
• Commercial water, brine and SWD facilities
• Groundwater Remediation
• Provide de-facto regulatory proxy for groundwater remediation programs in the RRCs OperatorCleanup Program (OCP)
• Review and comment on draft technical reports to ensure University's interests are covered
• Soil Remediation
• Determine and invoice surface damages
• Ability to review and approve produced water frac applications per the UL specifications

Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the environmentally focused surface management of all aspects of upstream oil and gas activity.
- Familiarity and knowledge of upstream O&G operations REQUIRED
