Pharmacist – Closed Door Long-Term Care Pharmacy Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pharmacist – Closed Door Long-Term Care Pharmacy Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join a closed door long-term care pharmacy team in Overland Park. The Pharmacist will be responsible for accurate dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients.
Pharmacist – Closed Door Long-Term Care Pharmacy Job Responsibilities:

Accepts and dispenses prescription medications in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.

Monitors patient medication compliance, usage patterns, and potential interactions.

Ensures prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for each patient.

Accurately maintains confidential patient and pharmacy records.

Provides patient counseling on prescription and non-prescription medications, including usage, side effects, and drug interactions.

Educates patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.

Compounds medications for internal and external use; prepares sterile solutions as required.

Supervises pharmacy staff including technicians, clerks, and interns to ensure efficient operations.

Maintains accurate inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related concerns and optimize patient outcomes.
Pharmacist – Closed Door Long-Term Care Pharmacy Requirements:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.

Active and unrestricted Kansas Pharmacist License.

Experience in a long-term care or closed door pharmacy preferred.

Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment.
