Pharmacist – Night Shift | Mattoon, IL 61938

Job Description:
The Pharmacist is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients, including processing of medication and IV orders and the advancement of rational, patient-oriented therapy. Acts as the primary advocate for ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of drug use in the hospital by serving as the primary resource for drug information for physicians, nurses, and patients.

Mattoon, IL 61938 – Onsite
Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Schedule & Shift:

• Overnight: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• 7 Days On / 7 Days Off (Monday to Monday rotation)

• Every other weekend required

• No on-call required

Salary & Bonus:

• $99,112 – $153,628/year (Based on experience)

• $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a 2-year commitment

Responsibilities:

• Interpret, prepare, and verify prescriptions, IV admixtures, and medication orders

• Clarify physician orders to prevent errors or adverse effects

• Monitor therapies for interactions, allergies, and clinical appropriateness

• Provide drug education and consultation to providers and patients

• Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and new pharmacists

• Support quality initiatives: medication reconciliation, BMV, anticoagulation monitoring, etc.

• Perform Pyxis and nursing station inspections with timely reporting

• Oversee secure distribution of controlled substances

• Participate in pharmacokinetics and antibiotic stewardship programs

• Document clinical interventions and support continuous quality improvement

• Stay current on Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee policies

Requirements:

• PharmD – Required

• Active Illinois Pharmacist License – Required

• New graduates will be considered
