Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Location: Hudson, WI 54016
Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Schedule: As Needed Basis – 2–4 weekend shifts per month, 2–3 on-call evenings per week
Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Shift Details:
- Weekends: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Weekdays: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- On Call: After hours (6:00 PM – 10:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $64.27/hour
On Call Pay: $75 per diem and $75 per dispensing call
Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Job Summary:
Responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and proper management of medications in compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws. Provides expert pharmaceutical care, ensures the accuracy and safety of prescriptions, and delivers high-quality service to patients. This position requires flexibility for on-call and weekend coverage, providing essential support to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Job Responsibilities:
- Accepts and dispenses prescription medications in accordance with applicable laws and standards.
- Monitors patient medication compliance, usage patterns, and potential drug interactions.
- Reviews prescriptions to ensure suitability, safety, and accuracy.
- Accurately maintains confidential patient and pharmacy records.
- Provides counseling to patients on prescription and non-prescription medications, including usage, side effects, and storage.
- Educates patients on proper handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compounds medications for internal and external use; prepares sterile and non-sterile solutions following standard protocols.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians, clerks, and support staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Identifies and resolves drug-related problems in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provides clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
Pharmacist – On Call / Weekend Coverage Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in the state of Wisconsin.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Experience with on-call or overnight shifts preferred.
- Non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
