Pharmacist Highlights
• The pay for this position is $62.85 per hour.
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM with a 60-minute lunch break; Saturday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Onsite position (closed-door pharmacy, not patient-facing)
• This position is a contract role.
Responsibilities
• Execute day-to-day pharmacy operations including workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations, including DEA, HIPAA, SOX, and USP 797/795.
• Supervise pharmacy production staff to maintain timely order entry, workflow efficiency, and secure medication handling.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of prescriptions, drug packaging, labeling, and documentation.
• Perform prospective drug utilization reviews for appropriateness, allergies, and interactions.
• Maintain knowledge of medication storage, administration, and stability.
• Oversee preparation and supervision of sterile IV drug products.
• Assist in proper handling and inventory of controlled substances and emergency kits.
• Participate in evening, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation as required.
• Ensure workflow grid is cleared daily and report ongoing issues to Pharmacy Management.
• Follow SOPs and all relevant third-party payor and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain thorough understanding of LTC policies, formularies, and clinical processes.
• Perform drug recall surveillance, documentation, and medication occurrence reporting.
• Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities may vary by location.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited school
• Active and current Pharmacist license in good standing
• 1–3 years of pharmacist experience
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 25 lbs, and work extended hours if needed
• Safety-sensitive role; must adhere to applicable HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in Long-Term Care Pharmacy
• Immunization certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of ASCPh guidelines and federal/state regulations related to LTC pharmacy
• Experience with sterile/non-sterile compounding, and controlled substance protocols
