PHARMACIST | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

  • Location: San Diego, CA 92126 – 100% On-site
  • Payrate: $66/hr
  • Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Weekends as needed)

PHARMACIST | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Pharmacist will ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications within a closed-door pharmacy, providing clinical consultations and supervising technical staff. By collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing sterile compounding, this role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of care for long-term care patients.

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

PHARMACIST | RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clinical Oversight: Accept, verify, and dispense prescription medications while monitoring for suitability, compliance, and over-usage patterns.
  • Compounding & Preparation: Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications for internal/external use following strict safety protocols.
  • Supervision: Lead and direct pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure efficient workflow and accuracy in a closed-door environment.
  • Consultation & Education: Advise on dosage, side effects, and drug interactions; educate on the use of medical devices (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors).
  • Collaboration: Work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
  • Administrative Integrity: Maintain meticulous, confidential patient records and manage pharmacy inventory levels.

PHARMACIST | REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
  • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in the state of California.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in sterile preparation and pharmaceutical compounding.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care (LTC) or closed-door pharmacy setting is preferred.
