PHARMACIST IN CHARGE | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Vinton VA 24179 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $131,000–$142,000 annually + Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
- Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday - Friday
PHARMACIST IN CHARGE | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Pharmacist in Charge will lead a high-performing team in a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy environment. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced pharmacist with management experience who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while overseeing pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and team development.

PHARMACIST IN CHARGE | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including scheduling, workflow, purchasing, and clinical responsibilities.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to improve operational efficiency, quality initiatives, and cost-saving strategies.
- Provide clinical guidance and technical support to pharmacy staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Respond to medication-related questions from healthcare providers, patients, and internal staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all clinical interventions and communications.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, distribution, and disposal of medications and biological products.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional leadership duties as needed.
PHARMACIST IN CHARGE | REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent.
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Virginia (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Previous pharmacist experience.
- Experience leading or managing pharmacy staff.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Long-term care pharmacy experience.
