Dispensing Pharmacy Technician Highlights
• The pay for this position is $20.00-$23.00 per hour .
• Schedule: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Mid Shift)
• Onsite position
• Full-time, Temp-to-hire opportunity based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
• Maintain automated dispensing system inventory and perform daily restocks.
• Visit client sites to troubleshoot automation issues and perform medication audits.
• Manage all automation-related maintenance and service needs.
• Prepare finished prescription products and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
• Accurately and efficiently fill medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
• Operate blister card packaging equipment, maintain automation canisters, and support pouch unit-dose packaging.
• Assist in processing returned drugs per policy and prepare medications for recycling or disposal.
• Pre-pack, label, and stock frequently ordered medications during low-volume periods.
• Support shipping and delivery preparation activities.
• Follow all HIPAA and government pharmacy regulations to maintain compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by the state of Illinois.
• 1+ year of pharmacy experience (Long-Term Care pharmacy preferred).
• Experience with pharmacy automation systems such as Pyxis or Omnicell preferred.
• Basic math, computer, and data entry skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be willing to travel locally for client support.
• Ability to work various shifts and days as required.
