PRN Pharmacist Compensation
- The pay for this position is $64.27 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
PRN Pharmacist Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is As needed basis — 2–4 weekend shifts per month (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM), weekday shifts 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM as needed, and 3–4 on-call evenings per week (on-call hours 6:00 PM – 10:00 AM)
PRN Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with legal and regulatory standards
- Verify prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medication use, storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
- Provide clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for internal and external use
- Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify patient drug-related problems and communicate with physicians and healthcare practitioners
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns
PRN Pharmacist Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of Wisconsin
- Licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Ability to work weekends and on-call schedule
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient counseling skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
PRN Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications
- Non-sterile compounding experience
- Experience with on-call or overnight pharmacy coverage
