Job Title: Overnight Pharmacist

Pay: $55-$60 an hr | Bi-weekly

Job Type: Onsite in Des Plaines IL 60018

Shift Options:

• 7 on 7 off schedule
• Schedule Options: 10p or 11p start time.

Overnight Pharmacist Overview:

• The Pharmacist provides pharmacy dispensing and consulting services consistent with all policies,
  procedures and legal requirements. This position is responsible for the daily dispensing activities of the
  pharmacy as well as providing of pharmacy consulting services to client facilities. The Pharmacist
  ensures the accuracy of dispensed orders as well as the safety and efficacy of the orders. The
  Pharmacist serves as a clinical resource to client’s staff, prescribers, patients and family members.

Responsibilities

• Possess current knowledge of medication information, clinical concepts, laws and regulations
relative to the practice of institutional pharmacy
• Provide clinical consultative services and therapeutic recommendations to prescribers and
nurses as needed
• Interpret and assess new and refill order requests accurately to ensure appropriate therapy and
maintain patient safety
• Monitor and recommend therapy adjustments based on medication regimens and patient status
• Enter, access, and retrieve data in the pharmacy system
• Perform clinical calculations as required
• Monitor and help implement formulary interchanges
• Perform Medication Regimen Reviews (MRR) for new admissions and upon request
• Transcribe telephone orders accurately and review for appropriate therapy
• Clarify prescriber orders when necessary
• Provide an accurate initial and final review of all prepared orders and medications to ensure
completeness
• Prepare and complete all appropriate documentation required on prescriber orders,
prescriptions, controlled substance records, etc.
• Monitor workflow in order to maintain consistent and efficient processing of all prescription
orders to ensure deliveries leave as scheduled

• Review of sterile and non-sterile compounds
• Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications

• Contribute to the maintenance of a productive and error-free work environment by keeping
pharmacy work spaces neat and orderly
• Supervises pharmacy staff
• Participates in the development of company procedures and policies

Overnight Pharmacist Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an NABP
  accredited College of Pharmacy
• Valid and unencumbered Illinois Registered Pharmacist license
• Long-term care pharmacy and/or hospice experience preferred
