PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Madison Heights MI 48071 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $24.45/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with rotating weekends
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacy operations in a closed-door, long-term care setting by accurately preparing, packaging, and labeling medications for dispensing and delivery. In addition, the position may involve specialized tasks such as non-sterile compounding, IV preparation, and operating automated dispensing equipment to ensure safe and timely medication distribution.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fill prescriptions and package medications for dispensing and delivery
- Accurately label medications, including auxiliary and cautionary labels
- Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments)
- Enter patient and prescription information into the system
- Support inventory management, including stock checks and removal of expired medications
- Process returned medications according to protocol
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members
- Work in specialized areas such as controlled substances and automated packaging
- Mix IV medications and maintain clean, compliant IV workspaces
- Support pharmacy operations and ensure timely, accurate delivery
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license (state required)
- Previous pharmacy experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to operate computer systems and identify medications accurately
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Long-term care pharmacy experience
- Experience with compounding, IV preparation, or medication packaging
