Clinical Pharmacist – Prior Authorization Highlights

• The pay for this position is $60.00-$67.00 per hour
• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM CST, 8 hours/day, including possible weekend shifts
• Training: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST for 4 weeks
• Onsite position.
• This position is direct hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical reviews of prior authorization requests for specialty medications
• Apply clinical judgment to ensure appropriate use of medications in line with policy
• Communicate with healthcare providers and members regarding authorization decisions
• Accurately document clinical decisions within system platforms
• Provide clinical oversight and ensure safe, effective medication use
• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize pharmacotherapy plans
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
• Support training of new pharmacists and pharmacy staff as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation every third week

Requirements

• Active Pharmacy License in state of residence (must provide copy with resume)
• Minimum 2–5 years of clinical experience with specialty medications or prior authorization reviews
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. required
• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows-based applications
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage sensitive clinical information securely
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed during and after training
