Job Title: Bilingual Pharmacy Technician
Pay: $27 an hr | Bi-weekly
Job Type:
- Onsite in Phoenix, AZ
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
Shift Options:
- M–F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Full Time)
Bilingual Pharmacy Technician Overview:
- Recover medications administered or dispensed to indigent patients without third-party prescription coverage
- Manage and process applications to pharmaceutical manufacturers’ Patient Assistance Programs
- Identify and resolve rejected applications, including accessing comparable medication regimens when available
- Monitor and track the value of recovered medications for billing and reporting purposes
- Maintain daily contact with patients, physicians, nurses, social services, pharmacy personnel, pharmaceutical representatives, and manufacturers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, patients, and pharmaceutical companies, serving as a liaison for program systems and processes
- Routinely visit key contacts within the health system to ensure high service levels and support program participation
- Discuss medication options with physicians and patients based on accessibility and availability in the outpatient setting
- Educate physicians, patients, and pharmaceutical companies on program mission, guidelines, requirements, and referral processes
- Provide extensive patient education and counseling to determine eligibility for assistance programs
- Refer patients who do not qualify for assistance programs to alternative resources such as local charities or social services
- Maintain security and confidentiality of patient information in compliance with applicable regulations
Bilingual Pharmacy Technician Qualifications:
- Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required
- 5–7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Customer service
- Pharmacy operations
- Sales or purchasing
- Administrative roles in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Above-average organizational and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
- Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize job effectiveness
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with effective follow-up skills
- Professional telephone presence and etiquette
- Better-than-average layperson knowledge of medications, medication classes, medical conditions, and standard treatments
- Knowledge of hospital and clinic operations
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced, and dynamic environments
- Experience working directly with the public in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with low-income or special-needs populations preferred
- Experience with social programs or charitable organizations is a plus
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Frequent walking and standing
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods
- High volume of writing, typing, and data entry
- Frequent verbal communication via telephone
