Pharmacy Tech I: Filling Technician
Role Overview
Safety sensitive, highly physically demanding pharmacy technician role supporting specialty pharmacy operations. Under pharmacist supervision, the worker selects, picks, packages, and labels medications for shipment, maintains records, and assists with inventory control. Cross training on Operations Assistant and Materials Coordinator duties is required.
Schedule
Monday to Thursday 12 pm to 9 pm
Friday 10 30 am to 7 30 pm
Pay: $20.14
Licensing and Education
Active California pharmacy technician license required with no infractions
National certification is not accepted
Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required
Assignment Details
Position length may extend based on leave of absence return
Potential conversion possible depending on performance and budget
Peak season specialty back end
Core Duties
Pick, pack, and label medications and supplies per prescription and pharmacy laws
Manual and automated medication counting
Record keeping and inventory support
Filling station preparation and restocking
Equipment and work area cleaning
Hazardous medication handling and hand sanitation
Assist as Operations Assistant packer as needed
Experience Requirements
Required three months pharmacy technician experience
Preferred three months pick pack ship experience
Preferred three months computer experience
Knowledge of drug names, basic pharmacology, pharmacy law, and medical terminology
Ability to collaborate, meet production standards, and escalate issues appropriately
Physical and Work Environment
Standing for 8 to 10 hours per shift required
Repeated lifting 5 to 10 pounds and occasional unassisted lifting up to 30 to 50 pounds required
Frequent reaching and grasping
Keyboard use and operation of machinery
Work near moving conveyor belts with moderate noise
Protective clothing or equipment may be required
