Pharmacy Technician | Details and Compensation:
- Location: Washington NC 27889 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $24.45/hr
- Required Availability: 9 AM-6 PM Mon-Friday maybe some Saturdays 8:30 AM-5 PM
Pharmacy Technician | Summary and Highlights:
The Pharmacy Tech will be working under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist - in a non-retail setting, you will be responsible for filling prescriptions, preparing IVs, and ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Pharmacy Technician | Responsibilities:
- Package prescription items for dispensing and delivery, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Apply appropriate cautionary or auxiliary labels to products.
- Participate in inventory checks and remove expired items.
- Prepare non-sterile compounded medications (emulsions, liquids, ointments, etc.).
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders professionally and pleasantly.
- Handle returned medications for credit or destruction.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
- Take on one or more of the following specialties:
- Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room
- Operate automated drug prepackaging machines
- Manage inventory levels and identify expiring stock
- Perform data entry for patient records and prescription labels
Pharmacy Technician | Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Verifiable).
- Pharmacy Technician license in the state of NC
- National Certifications preferred
- 1 year of pharmacy tech experience – long-term care setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Computer proficiency and the ability to identify a wide range of medications
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
