Pharmacy Patient Access

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Location: Remote (U.S.)

 

About the Role

We are seeking a Pharmacy Patient Access to support patients accessing specialty therapies by removing barriers to care and ensuring timely coordination of services. This role plays a key part in helping patients understand, access, and remain on the treatments they need for improved quality of life.

You will work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment handling high-volume communications between patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies.

 

Pharmacy Patient Access Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients, providers, and referral sources
  • Deliver one-call resolution whenever possible while providing excellent patient support
  • Create, process, and complete referrals and applications accurately
  • Investigate and resolve patient and physician inquiries in a timely manner
  • Enter detailed case information into proprietary systems while on live calls
  • Place outbound follow-up calls for confirmations and updates
  • Manage patient accounts from intake through final determination (approval or denial)
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and referral sources to process new applications
  • Report adverse events within required timeframes
  • Prioritize multiple cases simultaneously with urgency and accuracy
  • Provide empathetic, patient-focused support throughout the entire process
  • Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Pharmacy Patient Access Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or related field preferred
  • Call center or high-volume customer service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines preferred
  • Understanding of medical, supplemental, and pharmacy benefits preferred
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and mediation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism
  • Strong computer skills including data entry and Microsoft Office applications

 

Work Schedule & Training

  • Training Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (mandatory, on-camera attendance required)
  • Full-Time Schedule: 40 hours/week
  • Business Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM CST
  • Must have flexibility to work any assigned shift within business hours

 

Remote Work Requirements

This is a fully remote position. A professional, distraction-free workspace is required.

Company-provided equipment: Computer and required technology will be provided.

Employee-provided requirements:

  • Secure, high-speed broadband internet (DSL, Cable, or Fiber only)
  • Minimum 15 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload
  • Maximum 30 ms ping
  • Hardwired Ethernet connection required (no WiFi-only connections)
  • Dial-up, satellite, and cellular internet are not permitted
  • Surge protector with network line protection required for company equipment
