PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Vinton VA 24179 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $24.45/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | must be available for a rotating schedule.

- Standard shifts include: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
- Weekend Rotation: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to ensure the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications. This is a dynamic position that involves both clinical support—such as filling prescriptions and preparing IVs—and administrative duties like data entry and inventory management.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prescription Fulfillment: Fill prescriptions and prepare IVs under the guidance of a Registered Pharmacist.
- Dispensing Support: Assist in prepackaging medications according to strict regulatory standards and government safety guidelines.
- Quality Control: Help the Pharmacist in the final checking stages, including staging medications for review and coordinating timely delivery to customers.
- Data & Billing: Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter data into the computer system for prescription fulfillment and reimbursement processing.
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels by receiving and rotating stock, tracking lot numbers, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Safety & Maintenance: Work with the Technician Supervisor to ensure a clean, safe work environment, including the calibration and cleaning of pharmacy equipment.
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Active pharmacy technician license/registration issued by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex safety protocols.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and billing tasks.
- Knowledge of standard pharmacy regulations and medication packaging.
